8th Street Doctors of Chiropractic

Dr. Neil Barber                                                              Neil Barber, D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Neil Barber. I am a 1986 graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. During my 4 years at CMCC I was fortunate to have been introduced to Thompson Terminal Point, a low force chiropractic technique I continue to practice today.

Early in my career I made the commitment to be a lifelong student. In the late 80’s and 90’s I added to the nutrition and chiropractic science I learned at CMCC and also became certified in clinical acupuncture. In 2005 I started taking Functional Neurology through Parker Chiropractic College and in 2013 I completed a 3 year program through the Carrick Institute. Since then I have continued taking programs with Functional Neurology Seminars and the Kharrazian Institute.

I love doing what I do. Particularly recently with the addition of Functional Neurology. Participating in people’s lives through the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic and functional neurology is a gift I am forever grateful for.

I practice what I preach to those I am privileged to care for. I eat well, exercise 3 – 4 days a week, do my neurological exercises, limit my “screen time” and get my spine adjusted regularly. These simple measures have provided me with a productive and healthy life.

I welcome you and thank you for visiting our website. Although we offer much more than Chiropractic our focus continues to be the delivery of advanced Chiropractic Care.

Dr. Mike MajeranMike Majeran, D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Mike Majeran. I graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1990 and am fortunate enough to be in practice for 30 years! I still look forward to my time at the clinic helping patients. I have had the opportunity to work with a very diverse group of patients, students of all ages, families, career people and the retired and, of course, athletes; both competitive and the weekend warriors.

I use a ‘hands on’ approach when treating patients with a “diversified” technique. As no two people are identical, the treatment technique can be modified depending on the need.  As we teach a healthy lifestyle, I do my best to ‘walk the talk’.  My own personal care involves regular exercise, managing life’s unavoidable stresses and the never ending quest to make good nutritional choices (chocolate still trumps everything) and of course, regular chiropractic adjustments.

When I’m not at the clinic, my time is spent enjoying time with my family.  My wife, Kelly, and I have two adult children so we get to watch them continue to grow and experience life.  I also enjoy being outside; camping, walking the dogs, and riding my motorcycle are favourite past times.

Thank you for your time on our website.  I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your health and well-being.

Daniel Hounjet , D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Daniel Hounjet. I was born and raised on a farm in a rural francophone community in Saskatchewan. At age 16 my family moved to Saskatoon where I completed high school at St. Joseph High School. Following graduation, I attended the University of Saskatchewan for Kinesiology. Afterwards, I went on to attend Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. Following completion of my doctorate, I returned home to Saskatoon to begin practice where I have been a patient my whole life, at 8th Street Chiropractic Health and Wellness Clinic.

As no two people are alike, I utilize a diverse clinical approach to patient care that is tailored to the needs of each patient. I combine diversified adjusting technique along with Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and kinesiology taping. I have also attended multiple extremity adjusting seminars to help treat a broader range of extremity issues. I am continuously learning and trying to enhance the level of care I can provide to my patients. I feel it is important to stay up to date on current best practices and continue to expand my clinical skills.

Being physically active has always been an important aspect of my life; and I continue to make this a priority.  I spend my free time away from the clinic playing hockey and participating in CrossFit. Additionally, being back home has allowed me to spend more time with my family and friends, which I greatly value.

I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in achieving your goals.

Cameron Taylor , D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Cameron Taylor. I was born and raised in Saskatoon, and upon completion of high school attended the University of Saskatchewan where I studied Kinesiology. I then enrolled in the Doctorate of Chiropractic program at Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri. I was fortunate enough to be a member of multiple student clubs that have led me to having a diverse technique toolbox. Upon completion of my Chiropractic degree I returned back to Saskatoon, and am privileged to be serving this wonderful community.

I love the art of chiropractic adjusting, and though no two individuals are alike, I pride myself in taking a “hands on” approach to care. Utilizing both Diversified Technique and Thompson Technique we can work together to find an approach that tailors to your individual needs. I have also undergone courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessments, McKenzie Diagnostic Technique A and B, Concussion Rehabilitation, and Extremity Adjusting. I enjoy the pursuit of education and am always gathering new knowledge to best aid in patient needs.

Outside of the clinic you can find me engaged in an active balanced lifestyle. I enjoy exercising, hiking and camping. As well as having some down time with reading, playing musical instruments and most importantly trying new recipes in the kitchen.

I eagerly await our meeting and am excited to assist you in reaching your health goals.
